March 2020 Covid-19 Update

IMPORTANT UPDATE: re: Covid-19 March 19, 2020

In light of the clear and strict recommendations of Canadian and Provincial health officials for social distancing I am compelled to act decisively to combat the spread of Covid-19. For the safety of the staff, clients and co-workers I have chosen to close our office as of Thursday March 19, 2020 at 5:00pm and all the staff will be working from home from that point forward.

With the electronic and online software available, that we have been actively putting in place over the last several months, we are trying to make it as easy as possible for everyone to continue to provide us with their accounting, bookkeeping and taxes without having to come to our office or meet in person.

We can still stay in touch by various methods. Telephone, Zoom Meetings (are amazing if you have a webcam, iPad or smart phone), Email and Text if necessary. Banking and payments can be easily made online to the government agencies as well.

If you still must bring in paperwork I will still be coming into the office sporadically. Please call me to see when I will be there and what conditions we will meet. I have been meeting in the lobby of the professional building and placing all documents into a plastic file box for overnight sanitization before we open any files and start scanning them into our system. Please allow us time for the extra measures we need to take.

The government has provided a deadline extension to June 1, 2020 for the personal tax returns to be filed so let’s all work together, as a community, to keep ourselves safe and healthy which is our primary objective during this unprecedented time. I love meeting with all of you but for now this is our reality so let’s do what we can to flatten the virus line. . It really takes a community!
